Snowy Passes and Mixed Precipitation Expected Across Inland Northwest Washington

Winter weather conditions are set to challenge travelers in northeastern Washington and north Idaho. A series of disturbances moving through the area will bring valley rain, mountain snow, and occasional lowland snow Sunday through Monday. Snow levels are dropping as low as 2,000 feet, with Bonners Ferry seeing light accumulations on colder surfaces.

A warm front arriving Sunday will deliver light precipitation, with up to 2 inches of snow expected in Winthrop and Leavenworth. Mountain passes, including Stevens and Sherman, could receive 3–6 inches, creating snowy travel conditions.

Monday’s precipitation will shift eastward, lingering over northern Washington and Idaho. The Palouse and Camas Prairie will experience light rain or snow. Travelers should prepare for winter conditions, particularly over the passes.
