When I first read about it, I thought today was National Desert Day. And, to me at least, that holds considerably less appeal than adding one more S and talking about desserts.
Don’t get me wrong. Deserts are fascinating, and I’ve always wanted to see the Sahara. But I’m not sure I’d want to celebrate by eating a plate of sand after dinner. Besides, no restaurant chains or local eateries have announced free sand with the purchase of an entrée.
Fortunately, today, Wednesday, October 14th, is , and several restaurant chains with Illinois locations are giving us an excuse to indulge our sweet tooth without completely emptying our wallets…
