SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – For the second time in four months, a member of Springfield police brass has been cited for DUI.
The department’s transparency page reports: “On October 23, the Springfield Police Department was made aware that Lt. Charles Peters was arrested for DUI by the Illinois State Police. Lt. Peters is currently serving pre-approved time off. At the conclusion of his pre-approved leave, Lt. Peters will be placed on administrative leave. SPD has opened an internal affairs investigation and will have no further comment until that investigation has concluded.”…
