Illinois man arrested in Nacogdoches, found with suspected meth

NACOGDOCHES, Texas ( KETK ) – A man from Illinois was arrested in Nacogdoches on Tuesday after a search revealed “large quantities of suspected methamphetamine and cocaine” in his car.

According to a release, at approximately 2:30 a.m. in the 4000 block of South Street on Tuesday, a patrolling deputy noticed a passenger car travelling over the speed limit with one of the headlights out.

The Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Office said that the deputy stopped the vehicle and was given consent for a search. According to the release, during the search the deputy found several “vacuum-sealed bags containing a white substance hidden inside the door frame.”

Man found guilty of 2021 capital murder of East Texas pastor

The driver of the vehicle, Juan Antonio Diaz, 27 of Illinois, was taken into custody and a thorough search of the vehicle was done, officials said. According to the NCSO, the search revealed 10 bags that contained suspected meth and three that contained cocaine.
