An Illinois man has been hit with a decade behind bars for his role in a large-scale meth trafficking operation. Forty-two-year-old Cruz Vargas, Jr. from the state known for its Great Lakes connection was dealt a 120-month prison sentence Tuesday and will face another five years of supervised release thereafter, as mandated by Chief U.S. District Judge Randy Crane after Vargas had pleaded guilty, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Southern District of Texas.
