Indiana Steps Up in Support of Texas Border Mission: National Guard Deployed

In a show of solidarity, Indiana has joined a growing list of states backing Texas in its border crisis efforts. Governor Eric Holcomb announced the deployment of 50 National Guard troops to assist in the ongoing border security mission.

The move comes as Texas receives widespread support from various state governors, including recent commitments from Georgia and Montana. Governor Holcomb emphasized the importance of this deployment on social media, highlighting the impact of federal inaction on immigration enforcement and border security on national and economic security.

The decision to send troops is also driven by Indiana’s battle against the drug epidemic. Governor Holcomb pointed out the risks posed by the continuous flow of illegal drugs across an open border, stressing the need to curb the high rate of illegal immigration to protect Hoosier lives.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott welcomed the additional support, noting the expansion of efforts to deny illegal entry into Texas. He highlighted the decrease in illegal immigration in Texas compared to rising numbers in California and Arizona.
