Woman charged with battery to an officer after driving wrong-way on Indiana interstate

DUBOIS COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) A woman drove the wrong-way on I-64 through four counties Wednesday night before police were able to get her vehicle stopped according Indiana State Police.

Police in Spencer County got a call about a wrong-way driver and a trooper was able to spot the vehicle going west in the eastbound lanes. After tracking the driver for several miles, police were able to successfully deploy stop sticks. When police tried to arrest the driver, identified as Lauren Jones, she became combative and allegedly bit a trooper who required medical treatment.

After being taken to a hospital, Jones was arrested for multiple felonies, including OVWI, Resisting Law Enforcement and Battery to a Police officer.

Police say Jones traveled through Warrick County, Spencer County, Dubois County, and Perry County and no motorists were hurt because of her actions.
