Frozen Texas Roadhouse rolls to hit Walmart shelves in Indiana

COLUMBUS, Ohio ( WCMH ) — Texas Roadhouse has confirmed its famous mini rolls will be available in the grocery freezer aisle after online rumors swirled about the announcement.

In an email to partner station NBC4, the chain’s public relations team said an “8-week test” is being conducted in Indiana, Kentucky and “parts” of Ohio at Walmart stores.

“The mini rolls will be available at approximately 102 Walmart stores throughout the state of Indiana during the 8-week test,” Texas Roadhouse confirmed in an email to FOX59/CBS4.

The company told NBC4 the rolls are scheduled to go on Walmart store shelves on June 29, though some stores have jumped the gun and caused a stir on social media.

The Roadhouse team acknowledged that the rolls are always best freshly baked in the restaurant, but the frozen version is a tasty option.

“The mini rolls product is inspired by our world-famous made-from-scratch rolls and contains a honey cinnamon glaze,” Roadhouse said. “Nothing beats the fresh baked bread we make in our restaurants daily; however, we’re excited for our guests to have an inspired-by product available to them to make at home.”
