Happy hour returns to Indiana Monday

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – After nearly 40 years, happy hour is returning to Indiana.

Bars and restaurants will now be able to sell alcoholic beverages at a reduced price during portions of the day with some time restrictions. Up to now, restaurants could only offer reduced prices on drinks if they did so all day.

The law bringing happy hour back to the state was signed into law by Governor Eric Holcomb in March.

As an effort to reduce drunk driving, happy hour was banned in 1985.

The law goes into effect on Monday.
