Southwestern Indiana marching bands go for gold in state championship

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WEHT) — Several Southwestern Indiana marching bands are competing at the Lucas Oil Stadium hoping to bring home the gold. Eyewitness News has a crew at the stadium to update with the results from each class.

The following Southwestern Indiana high schools are competing at the Indiana State School Music Association State Championship:

  • Castle Marching Knights (Class A)
  • Jasper Marching Wildcats (Class B)
  • Evansville North Green Brigade (Class B)
  • F.J. Reitz Mighty Marching Panthers (Class B)
  • Princeton Community Marching Tigers (Class C)
  • Boonville Band of Gold (Class C)
  • Forest Park Marching Rangers (Class D)
  • Mater Dei Marching Wildcats (Class D)

These eight schools, amongst other qualifiers in the state, will be competing all day on Saturday.

Class D Results

  • 4th: Forest Park Marching Rangers
  • 10th: Mater Dei Marching Wildcats
