CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – We’ve still got a couple of days in the 80s to go.
Expect another quiet and mild night in eastern Iowa. Skies will be totally clear for most of the night, save for a few lingering high clouds in the far east and southeast early on. Temperatures fall into the low to mid 60s by the end of the evening, with mid 50s likely by daybreak.
Sunday is really shaping up to be a near-copy of Saturday’s conditions. Winds might be just a hair lighter in the afternoon compared to Saturday, but not by a big margin. So, expect another very warm and somewhat breezy day. Temperatures make it well into the 80s area-wide. Skies remain clear until late afternoon or evening when clouds emerge from the west.
Those clouds do little more than offer a different look to the sky for Sunday night into early Monday. Temperatures then stay quite mild, with lows in the mid 60s. This is above our normal highs for this time of year! It also gives us a launchpad for a very warm finish on Monday. Readings in the upper 80s would put us near record highs, with some potential to break them…
