Iowa residents will collect payments from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program for the next three days before the program wraps up for February.
In the Hawkeye State, the average payment per household member per month is $170. Approximately 9% of the population, or 278,800 people, receive food stamps in Iowa.
Iowa sends SNAP payments to recipients from the 1st through the 10th of every month. Food stamps will arrive based on the first letter of the household’s last name.
Households with last names starting with A through R should have received food stamp payments by Wednesday. Those with last names starting with T through Z should collect SNAP benefits over the next three days.

Households with last names starting with S will receive payments on Thursday, households with last names starting with T, U, and V will receive payments on Friday, and households with last names starting with W, X, Y, or Z will collect on Saturday.
