It all comes down to this.

Your finals matchups are set in all three class, with Class 1A being a stellar nightcap of a wild day of semifinal bouts. Thirteen top-seeded wrestlers have made the finals in Class 1A, setting the tone for a big day for the big names of the class.

Don Bosco firmly in front after big wins from freshmen

The Dons have all but had the first-place trophy placed in their hands ahead of final day at Wells Fargo Arena behind four guys making the finals and a 31.5-point lead over second-placed Wilton.

In the semifinals, it all got started with some highly-touted freshmen winning huge matches against the second and third-placed teams. Hayden Schwab kicked things off at 106 by beating Alburnett’s Atlee Dewitt in a 10-0 major decision with three takedowns and a pair of two-point near falls.

He was followed by one of his best friends, 132-pound freshman Dawson Youngblut who drew Wilton senior Brody Brisker. Tied at one apiece entering the third period, Youngblut’s takedown with 36 seconds to go clinched his win and put the Dons in a great spot with the Knaack brothers, Kyler and Kaiden, on deck, who later made the finals.
