EDGEWOOD, Iowa – Jody and Jim Kerns’ commitment to rural living focuses on how their family benefits from the lifestyle and, in turn, how the family can return the favor. The Kerns are one of seven farm families who were recognized as recipients of the 2024 Way We Live Award at the Iowa State Fair. Nominations included descriptions of how living on the farm and choosing farming as an occupation shaped the family’s life.
