ORANGE CITY-A Massachusetts pork ban that impacts Iowa farmers was upheld in district court. Now Iowa, along with 21 other states, is challenging that ban with an appeal. Massachusetts’ Question 3 of the Prevention of Farm Animal Cruelty Act looks like California’s Proposition 12, a ballot measure from 2018 that barred the sale of food from farm animals that were not housed to meet an additional set of requirements stricter than the federal standards.
