Frost/Freeze Risks Increase Tonight Through Tuesday Night

(IowaStormCenter.com) — A strong high will bring gusty winds today and the first frost/freeze tonight.

A tight pressure gradient will give way to strong northwesterly surface winds today with gusts of 30-45 MPH. Then the high will move through the area later tonight

This will lead to clear skies and light wind making conditions favorable for frost formation across western Iowa with temperatures in the lower 30s.

Then another strong high pressure will slide through the state early this week as temperatures continue to dip into the 20s and 30s Monday night and maximizing Tuesday night.

A widespread freeze is likely with the event. Cover any outdoor sensitive plants and protect animals.
