Reynolds rejects free speech
Gov. Kim Reynolds needs a refresher course on the Constitution she supposedly swore to uphold and defend. Her statement regarding the Satanic Temple is a blatant example of her disdain for free speech. First, she is not the arbiter of what is or is not harmful to children. Second, and more importantly, wrong to think that she can ban free speech on that basis. This issue was addressed by the Supreme Court in Cohen v. California in 1971. If people do not like the message, don’t look at it. It is a First Amendment violation to banish speech based on its content or message.

Let Ernst do her job
I don’t understand why Sen. Joni Ernst is facing so much criticism from some on the right over Pete Hegseth’s nomination process. She’s simply doing her constitutionally mandated job: vetting the president’s Cabinet nominees.
Ernst has made it clear she supports Hegseth through this process. There’s just no evidence that she’s trying to derail the nomination or the vetting itself.
