Iowa’s ‘bong law’ takes effect

DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) – Retailers are calling it a bong ban. A new law in Iowa requires anyone who sells smoking devices to get a permit. Lawmakers passed the bill last spring and it took effect this week. It requires shops to get state permits to sell smoking devices like bongs and pipes, which will also come with a new 40% tax.
