Iowa Governor marks one-year anniversary of deadly school shooting

DES MOINES, Iowa – One year after a teenager shot and killed two people and then himself at a central Iowa high school, Governor Kim Reynolds is remembering the tragedy. Investigators said Dylan Butler, 17, was armed with a shotgun and a handgun when he entered Perry High School on January 4, 2024, and opened hired. Butler killed the school principal and one student. Several other students were wounded.
