KANSAS (KOAM) – Kansas organizations celebrate the state’s 163rd birthday on Monday, January 29, 2024.

The Kansas Historical Society and Kansas Tourism are highlighting the cool things about Kansas today.

The State Seal was the first symbol in 1861, and many more have been added along the way by legislative statute. Establishment of state symbols is a way for Kansans of all ages to be involved in their state.
