Nearly $28M awarded to seven Kansas communities for child care, multi-purpose facilities

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – Nearly $28 million has been awarded to seven Kansas communities for child care slots and multi-purpose facilities. Governor Laura Kelly and the Kansas Children’s Cabinet and Trust Fund announced on Wednesday, Feb. 7 that they have created 458 new child care slots with the investment of nearly $28 million in Capital Projects Fund Accelerator (CPF Accelerator) awards to seven Kansas communities. These funds build and renovate multi-purpose community facilities that create new licensed child care slots, provide access to high-speed internet and house programs that facilitate work, education and health care monitoring.
