Special Olympics SE Kansas hold Polar Plunge 2024

PITTSBURG, Kan. (KOAM) — The Crimson Villa Apts, 1904 S Rouse was the location for the SE Kansas Polar Plunge.

Temps? 47° outside. Water temp? 42° didn’t slow down the teams who raised money for Special Olympics Kansas. Their friends and family and co-workers donated money to see them PLUNGE into those cold waters!

Every dollar raised in the 2024 Polar Plunge will go towards Special Olympics programming to support over 4,800 Special Olympics athletes in the state of Kansas.”

Dozens of teams and an unknown number of participants jumped.

“This year was extra special because Crawford County, Kansas Sheriff’s Office Sheriff Danny Smith helped recruit our good friend, Ellis County Sheriff’s Office Sheriff Scott Braun, who drove 5 hours with his team to help support the amazing Special Olympic Athletes of Southeast Kansas!”
