Mini waffle cone snack recalled over allergy risk: FDA

TOPEKA ( KSNT ) – The Food and Drug Administration ( FDA ) is warning people to avoid eating a chocolate snack product as it could pose an allergy threat.

The FDA posted the warning on Sept. 6 that Hammond’s Candies of Denver, Colorado is recalling its four ounce bags of “Dark Chocolate Filled Mini Waffle Cones” as they may contain undeclared milk. This poses a potentially life-threatening danger to people who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk.

The cones were distributed in 38 states, including Kansas, through retail stores and online sales. The recall was initiated after a person reported having an allergic reaction in connection to the waffle cones.

The FDA said the cones were sold in resealable bags bearing the UPC code of 691355905135. The Hammond’s item number for this product is FC2312.
