TOPEKA – Command Sgt. Maj. Steve Harmon, an Emporia resident, was appointed as the new command senior enlisted leader for the Kansas National Guard during a ceremony on Sept. 8 at the Kansas National Guard Headquarters. Harmon, who has served in the military for more than 37 years, takes over after previously serving as the state command sergeant major for the Kansas Army National Guard.
