Hastings, NE – A critical fire weather warning has been issued for southern South Dakota, much of central Nebraska, and northern Kansas, as strong winds and low humidity are expected on Wednesday. The National Weather Service forecasts sustained winds of 25 to 30 mph, which could cause fires to spread quickly in these dry conditions.
