- Fog & freezing fog tonight
- Mild for Christmas Eve/Day
- Rain returns late Thursday
A DENSE FOG ADVISORY is in effect tonight from 10 PM until noon on Christmas Day. Visibility may be reduced to 1/4 mile or less at times. With temperatures dropping into the upper 20s, freezing fog is likely in many areas, creating potential slick spots on surfaces. Cloud cover will persist through the overnight hours.
On Christmas morning, expect mostly cloudy skies, freezing fog, and cool temperatures. A gloomy Christmas for Northeast Kansas. Highs will reach the mid-40s. Clouds will remain throughout the day with light winds from the east. While there’s a slight chance of rain late on Christmas night, the main weather system is expected to hold off until Thursday.
The next best rain chance is on Thursday. There is a slim chance for drizzle in the morning, but the main round of rain will hold off until late Thursday night into early Friday. We should manage to hold on to the mild temperatures in the upper 40s and lower 50s through the end of the week.
