Our next chance for snow will be today. It will start as a few light snow showers around daybreak to the northwest as a front moves in.
We will also need to monitor the southern half of the area where more snow will start to move in by midday and during the afternoon.
Areas to the south and east will be under a Winter Weather Advisory until 6 a.m. Friday. Light snow accumulations could lead to hazardous, slick conditions.
Peak snowfall will be during the evening and into the night. Be prepared for a slower evening commute.
Snow will gradually move out from west to east during the overnight.
The highest totals of 2″ to 3″ will be in the southeast corner of the area. The farther north and west you are, accumulations will be lighter than that.
We will get a break from snowy storm systems after today.
Wichita and South Central Kansas will mainly stay in the 30s but there will be some highs in the 40s in Western Kansas at times.
