Ky. state leaders, recovery experts concerned about spread of ‘tranq dope’

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – A drug called Xylazine has long been used in veterinary practices. But now, the sedative is out on the streets. “At the end of the day, it’s a tranquilizer and on the streets, it’s earned the nickname of ‘tranq dope’,” said Pat Fogarty, the COO of Addiction Recovery Care (ARC) Centers.
