Volunteers needed in 69 Kentucky counties to review cases of kids in foster care

LEXINGTON, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — A new report shows volunteers are needed in more than half of Kentucky’s 120 counties to review cases of children in foster care.

It’s a big job with more than 8,000 kids currently in the system, according to the Citizen Foster Care Review Board (CFCRB).

The CFCRB said volunteers play a crucial role in reuniting children with their biological families or finding them a permanent home with adoptive families.

The counties in need, per CFCRB, are Anderson, Bath, Bell, Bourbon, Boyd, Bracken, Breathitt, Bullitt, Butler, Calloway, Campbell, Carroll, Carter, Clark, Clay, Clinton, Crittenden, Estill, Fleming, Floyd, Fulton, Grayson, Greenup, Hancock, Hardin, Harlan, Harrison, Hart, Hickman, Jackson, Jefferson, Jessamine, Johnson, Kenton, Knott, Knox, Larue, Laurel, Lawrence, Lee, Leslie, Letcher, Lewis, Lincoln, Livingston, Madison, Magoffin, Marshall, Martin, Mason, McCracken, McCreary, McLean, Menifee, Muhlenberg, Nicholas, Ohio, Owen, Owsley, Pendleton, Perry, Pike, Powell, Robertson, Trigg, Warren, Wayne, Webster, and Wolfe.
