Hair discrimination prohibited under Kentucky’s C.R.O.W.N. Act

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – Black women with natural hairstyles are 2.5 times more likely to be seen as unprofessional, according to a 2023 study by Dove. Most African Americans say they have experienced some form of discrimination based on their hair. Natural hairstyles like braids, locs and twists have historically been considered unacceptable by Eurocentric standards.
