Data: Kentucky ranks just shy of top 10 for highest wage growth in US

LEXINGTON, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — Kentucky workers make more than the national average the longer they stay at their jobs.

A new collection of data from Automated Data Processing Inc. (ADP) shows that Kentucky wages went up by 5.5% compared to 2023, with a median annual salary of $55,800.

Kentucky’s wage growth over the past year was higher than any of its border states, according to the ADP data for June.

The average state saw a 4.9% increase in wages for workers who stayed at their job for at least 12 months, per ADP. Montana saw the highest year-over-year wage growth in June at a 7.7% increase, and the three states tied for the third-place rank, increasing by 6%.

Hospitality leads the way

According to ADP, the leading industry in wage growth for the US over the past year was leisure and hospitality.
