Recapping The Recent Severe Weather

This past week has been very active with round after round of severe weather diving into our area. Now that everything is quiet, we can recap what happened this week. Most of the severe weather we got was from storms that started hundreds of miles away, primarily in or near Iowa. Generally speaking, these storms grouped together and became an MCS (Mesoscale Convective System) with damaging winds, hail, tornadoes, and torrential rain. You may remember us talking about storms riding around a ridge of high pressure earlier this week. You can actually see the track of the storms from damage reports that stretched from the Northern Plains to Eastern Kentucky. Data collected is from Tuesday to Friday.
