Kentucky Bourbon and Belonging to be first LGBTQ+ bourbon festival in US. What to know

Inspired by other well-established events like “ Gay Wine Weekend ” in Sonoma, California, and “ Queer Beer Fest ” in Washington, DC., Kentucky’s Queer Bourbon Week Bourbon & Belonging will offer 40-plus events throughout the state while showcasing The Bluegrass State’s rich bourbon and hospitality culture to LGBTQ+ visitors.

The five-day Bourbon & Belonging event will be held Oct. 2-6 and will be the first LGBTQ+ inclusive Bourbon festival in the country. It is hosted by Queer Kentucky , a Louisville-founded nonprofit focused on uplifting LGBTQ+ lives through storytelling, culture, and action.

“From my Covington home to seven other amazing destinations around the state, we are excited for you to join us for a week of festivities honoring Kentucky’s LGBTQ+ culture and bourbon tradition alongside the top bourbon brands in the world,” said Missy Spears, executive director of Queer Kentucky.
