(WHTM) — The U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) announced that more than 60 cases of Baby Powder have been recalled because it has potentially been contaminated with asbestos.
According to the FDA , Dynarex Corporation has recalled 62 cases of Dynacare Baby Powder because it has the potential for asbestos contamination.
The recall was issued as a result of routine sampling by the FDA, which revealed the finished products contained asbestos. Dynarex Corporation has since ceased the distribution of the product as an investigation is proceeds in order to determine what caused the contamination.
Asbestos is a known carcinogen with well-documented health risks. To date, no illnesses or adverse events have been reported.
Dynacare Baby Powder was sent to distributors on or after March 11, 2024, by direct delivery in the following states: Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, Kentucky, North Carolina, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Florida, Washington, and Wisconsin.
The product was also sold online on Amazon.
