Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-Fla.) on Monday openly ridiculed House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer for his failed impeachment inquiry of Joe Biden, bringing a printout quote of the Kentucky Republican’s words to a hearing and asking for an autograph.
The committee met to examine the threat of “political warfare” on the U.S. by the Chinese Communist Party. Immediately before Moskowitz’s turn to speak, Comer had called on the group to find a “bipartisan solution.”
Moskowitz was unimpressed. First, he highlighted Comer’s hypocrisy on the subject, illustrating numerous instances where former President Donald Trump had praised the Chinese government.
Then, he explained why he wasn’t sold on Comer’s calls for bipartisanship.
“And look, I appreciate the kind words the chairman said about me on Newsmax the other day, calling me the court jester,” Moskowitz said, addressing Comer. “So thank you, my liege.”
“But he said something else that I think really sums up what this committee has done,” he continued. “The chairman went on and said, ‘My job was never to impeach.’”
