LEXINGTON, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — Hundreds of Kentuckians have started making their voices heard at the ballot box. On Thursday, many voters in Lexington found lengthy lines at the polls.
“We’ve got four days to vote. We have no extended absentee. And we’re going to have, I think, more voters vote in 2024 than we had in 2020,” Sec. Michael Adams told FOX 56.

FOX 56 heard from voters who waited anywhere from 90 minutes to two hours in line. Adams has stressed to voters to use their early voting days to avoid a potentially longer wait come Election Day. He said absentee ballot requests are up 58% from the 2020 election, and excused in-person voting was up by 164%. While high turnout is welcomed, Adams has some concerns if it’s been a few years since a voter was last at the polls.
