Kentucky volleyball coaches announce Ms. Volleyball winner, All-State selections

Great Crossing High School senior Kate Rush has been named 2024 Ms. Kentucky Volleyball by the Kentucky Volleyball Coaches Association .

Rush, a 6-foot setter who has committed to Western Kentucky University , posted 328 kills, 78 blocks, 806 assists, 206 digs and 69 aces for a Great Crossing squad that finished 24-13 after falling in the semifinals of the 11 th Region Tournament .

Notre Dame’s Julia Grace was named Defensive Player of the Year, and Central Hardin’s Bill Rineker picked up Coach of the Year honors.

Three players from Louisville received first-team All-State honors: Assumption senior setter Emilee Fuller, Assumption senior libero Kristen Simon and Manual senior setter/right-side hitter Aubrey Montgomery.

Regional Player of the Year honors from the Louisville area went to Holy Cross’ Trinity Ward (Sixth Region), Montgomery (Seventh Region) and Oldham County’s Shelby Davis (Eighth Region).

Regional Coach of the Year honors from the Louisville area went to Bullitt East’s Wally Adams (Sixth Region), Manual’s Richard Weaver (Seventh Region) and Oldham County’s Ryan Warner (Eighth Region).
