As the enforcement date comes ever closer, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet reminds Kentuckians to get “REAL ID ready.”. Currently, people can present their drivers license as an acceptable form of ID when boarding domestic flights, but on May 7, 2025 that will no longer be the case. On that date “every Kentuckian 18 years of age or older will need a REAL ID or another acceptable form of identification to travel domestically and access certain federal facilities, including military bases.”
