KENTUCKY ( FOX 56 ) — Soldiers with the Kentucky National Guard are working around the clock to help winter storm victims stay safe.
“We’ve got roughly 237 soldiers supporting Winter Storm Blair right now, and we’re in 26 different locations,” said Lt. Col. Curtis Persinger with the Kentucky Army National Guard.

The guard has been working since Saturday to tackle whatever challenges come up tied to snow, ice, and low temps; this work first started at the Joint Operations Center in Frankfort. This is just feet away from where several state agencies have come together in the Emergency Operation Center, everyone working hand-in-hand.
Eric Gibson, Director of Kentucky Emergency Management, said some of the obstacles presented by the storm are too much for local officials to handle. One person he heard from was the Morgan County Judge-Executive.
