CVS Pharmacy is closing several of its quick walk-in service MinuteClinic locations in LA.
In a recent statement, the company said it plans to close 25 MinuteClinic locations in the LA area by February 25, according to ABC7.
“We evaluate customer demand and our health care service policies,” the company said, adding “Part of the evaluation led us to a difficult decision to close select clinics.”
Following the closures next month, the company will have 11 remaining locations in the LA area. The specific locations were not disclosed at this time.
Employees at the MinuteClinic locations slated for closure will be offered outplacement within the company or severance packages.
MinuteClinic, a service of CVS Pharmacy, offers walk-in care with minimal wait times and convenient appointment scheduling through an app or online. Services include vaccinations such as flu shots, testing services, and prescriptions.
Additionally, on January 12, CVS announced the upcoming closure of dozens of its stores located inside Target stores across California, set to occur between February and April.
