Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry calls death penalty a ‘serious and sobering issue’

THIBODAUX, La. (BRPROUD) – Gov. Jeff Landry was asked about the death penalty at a Wednesday press conference. The new governor was at Nicholls State University where he named four new appointees who will oversee Louisiana’s Coastal Master Plan. During questioning from the press, he was asked whether he would ask lawmakers to expand methods for how people on death row could be executed.
