FIRST ALERT FORECAST: A chilly night ahead, but rain will return and could impact some Mardi Gras events

LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) – It was a windy day Monday, the wind will subside overnight and that will allow temperatures to fall quickly. Tuesday morning will begin with temperatures in the mid to upper 30s north of I-10, low 40s along I-10, and mid to upper 40s at the coast. If the wind goes calm some inland areas could see some patchy frost; regardless you will likely want a jacket as you head out the door Tuesday morning. Temperatures will warm up nicely during the day with sunny conditions expected; highs will reach the mid to upper 60s in most areas.
