Louisiana Troops to Texas for Border Security Mission

Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry has announced the deployment of 150 Louisiana National Guards troops to support Texas National Guardsmen in support of their “Operation Lone Star” border security mission.

Landry ordered the deployment following his visit to Eagle Pass, Texas last weekend.

During his tour of the Texas Border Landry was concerned enough about what he saw there to commit to sending troops to help – and upon his return to Baton Rouge- spent the week planning the Texas deployment which will likely occur in March.

Louisiana Senate President Cameron Henry estimates the deployment will cost about 3 million dollars. Governor Landry quickly tweeted out a defense of that expenditure:
