Growing Lousiana’s history: Biggest cabbage

BOURG, La. ( WGNO ) — When it comes to cooking cabbage, in Louisiana, bigger is always better.

In her kitchen, that’s the mission for Jenny Bourg.

She lives in the community of Bourg, about an hour southeast of New Orleans.

That’s where WGNO Good Morning New Orleans features reporter Bill Wood travels to see Jenny, her husband Terry, and the garden.

That’s “thee” garden.

That’s where Jenny grew the cabbage that’s the largest in Louisiana history.

It weighs in at just over 44 pounds.

And it’s seven feet around.
