Vicksburg man wanted for armed robbery now faces charges in Louisiana after Friday afternoon chase

A high-speed chase that began Friday afternoon in Tallulah and ended in Vicksburg led to the arrest of a man already wanted in Warren County.

According to information from the Warren County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO), 18-year-old Jason Anderson Jr., of Vicksburg, was taken into custody after his green Ford pickup was stopped on the ramp off Interstate 20 leading to Halls Ferry Road by Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace and WCSO deputies, officers with Vicksburg Police Department (VPD) and deputies with the Madison Parish Sheriff’s Office (MPSO).

WCSO officials said they were initially made aware of the chase by MPSO and informed Anderson – an unknown suspect at the time – was traveling at speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour. MPSO reported Anderson tossing what appeared to be contraband out of the windows of the pickup as he crossed the bridge into Mississippi. Once Anderson exited the bridge, the pursuit was picked up by units with VPD. WCSO said, when Anderson exited the interstate toward Halls Ferry Road, the three departments converged on his vehicle to make the arrest.
