Hottest weather since last summer’s records forecast this week

The weather gets even hotter in the coming days across Southeast Louisiana.

“This will likely be the hottest week of the year so far,” WWL TV Meteorologist Payton Malone forecasts.  “Temperatures will climb to near 100 degrees the rest of this week.”

He says the only saving grace is it won’t be as muggy as it could be.

“We’ll have light winds from the northwest, which will mean very slightly lower humidity.”

Malone explains that should keep it from feeling like 120 degrees.

“This should limit the heat index to around 112, but that is plenty hot to cause heat stress issues.”
