Pattern Change Incoming! Daily Downpours Return.

NEW ORLEANS — Pattern Change Incoming! Daily rain chances climb into late week.

New Orleans International has picked up less than 1″ of rainfall month-to-date, nearly 5″ below average. ~38% of Louisiana is now experiencing minor drought conditions.

Rain relief is on the way over the next 7-10 days with a marked pattern change. Fortunately, many of us could use the beneficial rainfall. Hot spots of 3-6″ of rain likely along and south of I-10, especially near the coast from southeast Texas to southeast Louisiana. Lower amounts as you head inland.

As it stands at this time, tropical development isn’t anticipated. However, with persistent tropical moisture & convection over 88+ degree water temperatures, we will keep one eye on lowering pressures in the region. Models don’t showcase much in the way of bonafide development, but it’s not impossible to see something spin up over the next 7+ days.
