Strong Thunderstorms Beginning to Develop Across Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Maryland Borders

Good afternoon everyone. We continue to have a few spots of concerns, plus our nightly severe weather risk as a cold front slowly drapes down across the Ohio River Valley and the Mid-Atlantic.
A rare sight is some summer snows in parts of northwest Montana with a new low pressure system dragging down cold enough air from Canada, and rushing it through the mountain passes of the upper Rockies. On top of the snow, we have frost and freeze warnings for the higher elevations and hills of western Montana.
In some areas, snow accumulations could amount to 6 to 10″, but 3-6″ will be more common across the area. For this reason, the National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory until 6pm MDT this evening; then we will watch for the frost and freeze issues to kick in overnight.
We also have heavy showers and thunderstorms across parts of Gulf Coast Florida, Texas, and Louisiana as tropical (non-developing) energy lurks around. Look for heavy showers and storms to continue in coastal areas, plus some thunderstorms inland with the help of an onshore flow. While we don’t have severe weather watches or warnings at this time, look for locally strong to severe storms capable of gusty winds, small hail, and potential waterspouts.
