Cassidy Demands Congress Reauthorizes, Reforms Flood Insurance Program in the Wake of Hurricane Francine

WASHINGTON (September 18, 2024) – United States Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) delivered a speech on the U.S. Senate floor urging Congress to reauthorize and reform the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). He called on Congress to take action before NFIP expires at the end of the fiscal year on September 30th, 2024. He also urged Congress to roll back Risk Rating 2.0 to make NFIP affordable again. This is the sixth installment of a series of Senate floor speeches Cassidy is using to focus attention on unsustainable flood insurance premiums.
