Rod West announces retirement from Entergy

On Thursday, Rod West, group president of utility operations for Entergy, announced he would retire at the end of January.

After more than 25 years with the company, West said he would move to a position as a strategic advisor to Entergy’s chair and CEO Drew Marsh, as well as to the company’s executive team, as a way to transition the company to his departure.

“Rod’s contributions throughout his career at Entergy have been important to our company’s success and will provide enduring benefits for all of our stakeholders,” Marsh said. “Rod’s strategic vision and leadership and his ability to manage competing stakeholder interests has consistently led to successful outcomes. He has been a leading champion for innovation, new solutions and technologies that have helped transform the way we serve our customers and grow our business.”

West’s responsibilities at the company include the operational and financial performance for Entergy’s five utility companies in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas. Over the course of his career, he has worked to assist in the company’s industrial growth and modernization, as well as efforts to harden the energy grid and enhance the customer experience. Recently, his teams have seen successes, including a partnership between Entergy Mississippi and Amazon Web Services which represented the largest capital investment in Mississippi’s history, and Entergy Louisiana’s approval to invest nearly $2 billion into grid resiliency.
